Leaders’ wives to meet for coffee in Kyrenia
FIRST Lady Elsi Christofias will cross to the north this afternoon to have coffee with Oya Talat, the wife of the Turkish Cypriot leader.
Mrs Christofias has accepted an invitation to join Mrs Talat at the latter’s home in Kyrenia. The visit is entirely social, although it is felt that such contacts also help the climate between the two leaders during the ongoing negotiations.
Mrs Talat visited Mrs Christofias’ home in Makedonitissa in Nicosia in a personal capacity in April this year.
